Employee profile:
Laura Cairns, Director

What sparked your interest in Property?
I think growing up I always had that ‘Tomboy’ element. I would spend my days in my treehouse with my toolbox or building houses with lego. I didn’t realise at the time that I had a passion for property and after going through school and dropping out of uni twice as the degrees didn’t suit me I got a job in social housing and that’s when the penny dropped. I went on to study Property Investment and Development and have worked in property ever since.

How can you help others through your job?
A lot of people think that you need quite a sum of money to begin investing in property however we help everyone from first time buyers, helping them become mortgage free within 5 to 10 years to sourcing Buy to Lets to building a portfolio for clients who have no pension as such and wish to secure their future.

What is the best part of your job?
Developing client relations and watching the realisation of what property can do and the choices that it can give you. Especially when people don’t think they have money to invest and we show them how they do.

What advice would you give to someone wishing to get into Property investment?
Don’t invest for the sake of it. Know what you are investing for and then work towards that goal. And if you don’t know what you are doing then work with someone who does!
